A heat recovery steam generator is an energy-recovery heat exchanger that recovers heat from a stream of hot gas, such as a combustion turbine or other exhaust stream. It produces steam that can be used in a process or used to drive a steam turbine. Currently, about 750 HRSGs are manufactured and installed worldwide.
