AMECC - LAUNCHING MODULES 1, 2 - LONG SON PETROCHEMICAL COMPLEX PROJECT

At 14:30 on 10th October 2020, AMECC coordinated with Samsung Engineering and Vietranstimex to separate and transport the first two modules to prepare for the launching ceremony of Long Son petrochemical project.

The total weight of modules 1 (HD-PAR-001) and 2 (HD-PAR-002) is 1036 tons, designed as separate blocks, both modules are transported by Vietranstimex contractor, with a distance of more than 200 m to the barge, ready for launching the first Module of Long Son Petrochemical complex project.

The Southern Petrochemicals Complex (Long Son Petrochemicals - LSP) with a total investment of US $ 5.4 billion has kicked off in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. This is the first petrochemical complex in Vietnam with the capacity is up to 1.6 million tons/year, able to replace polyolefins products those are currently imported. The project also includes other infrastructure besides petrochemical complex, deep water port.

The project is expected to create about 15,000-20,000 jobs in the construction stage, more than 1,000 skilled workers when it goes into commercial operation.

Preparatory work is coordinated with Vietransimex contractor

The project is also estimated to contribute 60 million USD/year to the national budget during the 30 years since its operation.

Licensed in July 2008, Long Son Petrochemical Complex has a total investment capital of 3.77 billion USD, then increased to 4.5 billion USD and finally 5.4 billion USD.
