Dedication Ceremony of the Global Module Center Joint Stock Company in Hai Phong: A New Milestone in Development

On January 26, 2024, the Dedication Ceremony of the Global Module Center Joint Stock Company took place at the Duty-Free Zone and Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Zone (Zone 1), part of the Dinh Vu-Cat Hai Economic Zone in Hai Phong city. The event was attended by a large number of esteemed guests, partners, and renowned customers from both domestic and international spheres, marking a significant milestone in the company's developmental journey.

Representatives from governmental authorities and leading corporations such as Samsung Engineering, Sankyu Japan - Vietnam, Sao Do Group, Hai Phong Port Service Joint Stock Company - HPS, joined hands with the Global Module Center on this day. The event witnessed the presence not only of significant individuals and entities within the industry but also major partners like Hai Phong Port Company, Nam Dinh Vu Port, and reputable banks such as Vietcombank, HDbank, Vietinbank, showcasing unanimous support and strong endorsement from the business community and partners of the company.

In his speech at the inauguration ceremony, Comrade Le Trung Kien - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Management Board of Hai Phong Economic Zone, highly praised the efforts and achievements of the Samsung Group and other investors in promoting this project in Hai Phong. He also proposed stronger future investments from Samsung, especially in modern and environmentally friendly technologies, to minimize waste and promote green transformation in the city's industrial production.

In his speech, Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, the General Director of Amecc, expressed special gratitude to the partners, customers, and strategic partners of Samsung Engineering. He emphasized the successful collaboration over the years, particularly in the field of Module fabrication. Together with Samsung, they established the Global Module Center, aiming to build a center for manufacturing, processing steel structures, and mechanical products to meet domestic and international needs. This not only contributes to the development of Vietnam's heavy industry but also enhances international cooperation and elevates Hai Phong's position in the context of global integration.

The inauguration ceremony was a significant milestone, a memorable event not only for the Global Module Center but also for the Vietnamese business community. The presence and commitment of international partners serve as clear evidence of the collaboration and development potential of the Vietnamese market in the modern era.

Project information:

The Global Module Center Joint Stock Company (GMC) was established with the capital participation of three investors: Samsung Engineering, Hai Phong Port Services (HPS), and AMECC. Samsung Engineering holds 49.6%, HPS holds 30%, and AMECC holds 20.4%. The company's purpose is to build a manufacturing center for processing steel structures and mechanical products to meet the fabrication and installation needs of Modules for both domestic and international markets.

GMC's mission is to provide customers and partners with the best products and become the general contractor for Module manufacturing projects, contributing to the development and increasing the value of life for workers and society. The company aims to affirm its position as a leading entity in the field of Module fabrication, serving both domestic and international markets, particularly in the Middle East and the United States.

In the future, this will be the largest Module manufacturing complex in Vietnam and the region, contributing to the development of Vietnam's heavy industrial mechanical sector.

  • Project area: 162,500 m2.
  • Total investment: over 1,218 billion VND.
  • Designed capacity: 30,000 tons per year.
  • Expected annual revenue: 1,963 billion VND.

Phase I of the project will commence construction from Q4/2023 to Q2/2024. Phase II, involving the installation of machinery and equipment, will take place from Q2/2024 to Q3/2024, with official operation scheduled for Q3/2026. Upon the project's operation, GMC anticipates creating over 1,200 job opportunities for workers.

The establishment and operation of GMC will not only provide employment opportunities for workers but also generate direct income for the state budget through taxes and fees from the use of public utilities and services.
