REGULAR 5S - MIV CULTURE AT AMECC: JOINING HANDS TO BUILD A PRODUCTIVE AND SAFE SHARED HOME

At AMECC, we believe that an organized and systematic work environment is not merely the foundation for productivity, but also a reflection of each member's sense of responsibility and professionalism. Therefore, instead of short-lived launch campaigns, the 5S - MIV activities (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain - integrated with MIV) have been established as a regular cultural practice, implemented consistently across our entire system.

The Spirit of 5S - MIS: Beyond Simple Cleaning

The core purpose of the 5S - MIV activities at AMECC goes beyond merely keeping the company clean. We strive for deeper values:

  • Eliminating waste and enhancing productivity: A tidy workplace allows everyone to easily find, retrieve, and return tools and documents, thereby optimizing time and workflows. The motto "A tidy office drives productivity" is always kept in mind.
  • Ensuring occupational safety: Proper organization, along with regular cleaning and maintenance of machinery, helps minimize the risk of accidents, especially in the factory areas.
  • Fostering a sense of responsibility and harmony: When the entire Board of Directors, management, and staff work together, this activity not only cultivates discipline and self-awareness but also strengthens solidarity, creating an open and friendly work environment akin to a "shared home."

Practical Observations at Key Areas

Rather than stopping at basic cleaning, the 5S - MIV activities over the past week focused on reorganizing the physical space and assets of the enterprise:

  • In the factory and production areas: This is the core area prioritized for control. Over the past week, work crews thoroughly sorted out excess materials and removed scrap from the construction site. All tools, equipment, and machinery were reorganized according to the designated layout. Equipment surfaces were cleaned to minimize wear and tear and facilitate the early detection of technical faults.
  • In the warehouse area: The warehouse management team reviewed the labeling system and reorganized the storage locations for raw materials. This ensures that the import-export processes in the coming weeks will proceed swiftly, reducing the risk of confusion or material loss.
  • In the office block: Employees reviewed and disposed of documents that no longer held legal or practical value. Records and vouchers were systematically archived in cabinets and shelves. Personal workspaces were tidied up, ensuring a well-ventilated and professional work environment.

Achieving the Dual Goal: Occupational Safety and Efficiency

One of the greatest achievements noted from the past week's activities is the direct improvement in occupational safety. By reorganizing the site, departments have eliminated numerous potential hazards, such as obstacles on walkways, disorganized electrical cable systems, and improperly stored flammable materials.

Simultaneously, a standardized space significantly reduces redundant operations. Personnel no longer have to waste time searching for tools or documents, which directly accelerates daily work progress.

Directions for Maintaining the 5S - MIV Culture

The positive results from last week's general cleanup demonstrate that the self-awareness and industrial discipline of AMECC's workforce are continually improving. Maintaining a regular frequency of twice a month is the foundation for 5S - MIV to truly take root, become a habit, and serve as an inseparable part of the corporate culture.

The Board of Directors highly appreciates the coordination and sense of responsibility of all departments and workshops. In the coming time, cross-inspections and evaluations between departments will continue to be maintained to ensure that the work environment at AMECC consistently meets the highest standards.
