MONG DUONG THERMAL POWER PLANT NO.1 – THE PLACE TO AFFIRM AMECC’S CAPACITY OF REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE

It has been 4 years since the first days of making accommodations and houses, gathering materials and equipment, testing welder qualification…, the big chimneys, coal storage, turbines, tanks, boilers have been manufactured, a high-capacity thermal power plant has been completed, which bring the economic efficiency to a whole country.

After four years of uninterrupted operation, the machines now need to be "cared for" by the workers to better play their roles. Therefore, it is the time AMECC’s maintenance and repair workers eagerly do their work. Only after having conversation with Mr. Khong Huynh Thanh - Director of Quang Ninh Branch – Site commander, we understand the difficulties of the workers here.

Because of heavy workload, tight schedule, high technical requirements, all the welding joints have to meet the quality requirements by ultrasonic inspection. But that does not discourage hardworking and diligent workers. They consecutively work overtime, continually learn, improve their skills, constantly follow the schedule, meet the requirements and receive the praise from the contractor.

At this maintenance and repair project, AMECC is in charge of repairing and maintaining:

Overhaul circulating water pump (CWP) (Maximum lifting weight is 34 ton/item)

Diving to check water gate (Capacity is 3600m3/h)

Install oversize, overweight equipment with very small tolerance (Adjust concentricity with tolerance is less than 0.5mm)

Maintain and repair valve, fan, and ash handling system…

Until now, AMECC has completed more than 50% of workload. Meeting with the industrious workers, we understand the pride in their hearts as they carry on AMECC's aspirations. With the enthusiasm of working with the close attention, the timely encouragement of the Board of Directors, we believe that the AMECC workers will complete the work as well as meet the schedule of the contractor.
